New Class 1, Division 2 Approved Heat Trace Connector For Process And Oil Industry From Weidmuller

untitled

Weidmuller announces the introduction of a new and innovative Heat Trace Connector for use in the oil and gas, and petrochemical industries. Designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments surrounding oil pipelines and refineries, Weidmuller's Heat Trace Connector provides an electrically and environmentally reliable method to interconnect oil pipeline heat trace elements. It also offers a substantial reduction in installation time and cost over the traditional junction box method of connections.

Weidmuller's Heat Trace Connectors are designed for easy onsite, one-man installation under all types of conditions. The coaxial design allows for complete 360° connection, which eliminates alignment or rotational problems during installation. The innovative coil spring contact provides for a highly reliable connection, and reduces the chance of contact destruction if the connector is accidentally disconnected while under load.

A unique pivot lever locking mechanism, located on the connector's exterior, guarantees a quick and secure fit as well as superior holding power. Once the levers are fastened, they can only be disengaged with a standard screwdriver. This added feature prevents accidental disconnections, making a properly installed connector virtually fail-proof! The only tool needed to install or disconnect Weidmuller's Heat Trace Connector is a standard flat blade screwdriver.

Weidmuller's Heat Trace Connector (male and female components) is equipped with two-pole tension clamp wire termination points and an integrated ground, and is rated at 35A, 600 V. The robust housing is made from a lightweight aluminum alloy with a protective tin-plating. It is IP67 rated and has CSA Class 1 Division 2 approvals.
